Do any stores have any ice fishing gear out yet? In the market for a new 2-man shelter and want to check some out in person.

Cabelas in Buffalo didn't have anything yet as of Sunday

Gander Mountain had ice fishing pole combos and a couple huts on display, and had the shelves cleared out for the rest of the display

Just ordered and received (in 4 days) my Cabela ice team 2000TC 2-3 man hut. Some huts were already sold out on Amazon, didn't want to get left without.

Running's had an awesome selection last year. Gander in New Hartford did too. Hopefully the same this year. I order all my tackle from FishUSA though. Prices can't be beat, no tax and free shipping.

saw celsius brand gear at a local shopko in clare michigan today. they had tip ups rods and other small gear, no shelters

Not saying I will purchase my shelter at a local store, but I like to actually see what I'm buying before dropping that much coin.

I also like to look, feel and touch my gear but for things I know I want, absolutely FishUSA is my go to online store.. Quick, easy and very helpful when you need customer service..

I have 2 kill zone shanty's.. They are a great value shanty.. You need to keep watching and waiting , they come in stock (when ever) and usually out of stock quickly.. I would recommend spending the extra on the XL.. The height is much better (you can stand up) and wider base, fits 3 guys pretty comfortable..
I use the regular one as a deer blind..
Have had the regular shanty for little over 5 years now without any problems and I leave it in the woods thought deer season and use as an extra on ice if someone needs shanty..

Biggest problem though is waiting for them to come in stock.

Gander Mountain in tonawonda was stocking the shelves today they only had 3 clam huts on display lots of rods and reels not many lures or electronics yet but they said they'll be out soon

Just an FYI, stopped at Runnings in Rome today and they only had ice augers out. No ice shelters just hunting blinds.

Auburn BPS has some stuff out. A lot of leftovers but some new shelters
and tackle.
The guy said that most of their new rods, combos and augers not in stock
yet.

My sincere apologies , When I stopped in I was looking more at great lakes gear and noticed a bunch of ice gear.. Really didn't look at stuff closely and seen they had "huts" which I just figured were for ice because I did notice the augers..

Ps.
If anyone has any shanty questions, I have the following shanty's and would be glad to answer.
1. killzone reg pop up (not much head room, smaller foot print , fits 2 guys ok)
2. killzone XL pop up (I recommend)
3. Shappell Rover-1.0 (nice little light shanty but kinda small)
4. Shappell -FX 100 (a nice bigger upgrade then the Rover)
5. Shappell FX 150 (a bigger , heavier tougher shanty, but use it sparingly due to weight )

No worries Hot Tuna! I figured you saw them and thought they had the ice gear out. I was driving by anyway so no wasted time or gas. I did end up ordering one of the new Evo-2 shelters from Eskimo. I saw that a bunch of guys on here were ripping the design a bit but I really think it will fit the needs of my son and I very well. Looks like it has tons of room and a very fishable layout. I will post some better pictures and my opinion of it once I actually receive it.

Took a ride to Runnings in Rome on Saturday and I'm already impressed by what they have out. Definitely worth the forty minute drive.

just picked up gear from dicks as well. Lots of pop up (not flip over) shelters. 2 man for 150.
Picked up a combo, some line ad rod holders. Had to keep it mild as I had the boss with me. More after I drop her off at work :-p

Ill be at the Bass Pro in Auburn on Black Friday to Demo the Snobear and assist with their floor sales. They have a ton of stuff on the floor now. Also for the SE guys, Cabelas in East Hartford is Packed full already.

Stopped at Runnings in Rome to pick up some canning supplies, they were just setting up their ice shanties. Had a pretty good selection of gear out as well.
