In an effort to learn gain more Ice Fishing attention for the east and get the industry interest. As many of you know the Eastern Ice Belt has some amazing fishing with such great populations of fish. Much attention over the years is mostly focused on fishing to the west and mid-west.
This question is something to gain attention
In a few short sentences. What is your favourite lake to fish and Why?

i'd have to say paradox. been fishing that lake more than any other in the last 27 years of fishing up here. my brother has a camp in paradox for close to 30 years now.paradox was the first "big" lake i fished in the daks.

Lake Champlain because of the wide variety of fish and terrain, plus we have had a family camp on its shore for over 100 years...!

I too love Lake Champlain, because of all the different types of fish especially the Lakers and the Land Locks. I own property on Willsboro Point so the region holds a special place in my heart.

Really so no one showed you a lake when you got started? The idea is to get ideas for those getting started ect.

X2! There are no SECRET lakes.No matter where you go you will find fishermen.myself I have been given quite a few nice places to fish from Members on here. Likewise I would do the same.

i agree,alot of people are just getting started in icefishing. it would be nice to let them know a few things about icefishing. i for one have no problem telling people what i use,where i go and what parts of a lake are better. those who like to be secretive about lures,presentations,spots are just plain ignorant in my opinion,i'm sure i'll get alot of slack over that comment but like fishman said,we weren't born with the know knowlage of icefishing and all the know how of how to go about it. if i can help ya out,pm me,i'll be more than glad to help if i can!

Thanks! I have the same attitude just not the knowledge yet. This is my second year on the ice. Maybe you could put me on a pile of perch in LG. Not finding numbers this year but i'll keep searching.

I like the Indian River Lakes. They provide a large variety options within a small area. Favorite is Red Lake.

Our little honey hole on Black Lake is hard to beat. The scenery is beautiful, the area is quiet, and we always have fun within our little shanty town. A little closer to home for a day trip, I like Honeoye Lake. This is a true fisherman's lake. You have to work for the reward and very rarely just set up and pound fish. The reward is some of the biggest panfish in NY State

I popped that into google just to see where that is and no foolin the place i just stayed at i could spit into your hole. It was my frist time seeing the King and fell in love with it instantly. Already booked a return trip for 2 weeks from now because when we stayed there for new years the bay wasn't frozen over yet. Thanks for making my day lol. I cant wait to get back up there talk about it every day. Totally worth the 5 hour drive

Another vote for the Queen of American lakes here.
I love places like Paradox, Schroon, and points north to knock the cobwebs off the gear and get on some early ice. But, they are just practice for when Lake George freezes up.
The lake is an absolute fish factory.

Lake Erie for all seasons! We rarely get to ice fish it, but this year it looks like we're going to get out there! I love Erie because of the walleye fishing in the summer, the perch action almost any time of year, and the runs of steelhead and channel cats you get in the creeks. So much variety and true quality fish!
