What the he!! is wrong with people. The sad part is if the thieves get caught, they will probably get a light slap on the wrist, if anything in the courts.

Well in 25 yrs of ice fishing i think this is the lowest thing i have heard of. Well i know my eyes will be open and looking for it. With all the members on here were is the thief going to bring it with out one of us seeing it keep your eyes out for ice shanty members. Looks like this guy has had it for some time Lets try and help him get it back....

What a low life!!!!I hope you find the person that stole your shanty,better yet i hope you get your shanty back!!!Can't stand theives.My buddy had a couple of deer stands stolen,This crap really makes me mad.Can't stand people that are to lazy to make there own!!!I don't fish that lake where it was stolen from so all i can say is good luck i hope you find it and the lowlife that took it.

Did they look all around the edges of the lake? I would like to think that no one would steal someone elses hard side. I am hoping that with some of the wind that we had recently that it may have come loose and got pushed across the lake to the shoreline. I was on the lake Sunday in the a.m and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. We travel to several lakes and I will keep a look out for it.

My take on it too, Johnny... Seems like a VERY odd and cumbersome thing to steal. Even if just for firewood.

Shanty vandalism is (sadly) quite common, but THEFT? Seems like a bit of a stretch.

agree.. friends lost a few for a while before to be found either destroyed or just somewhere else from wind.. The tail sign could be if it was anchored down.. Rope cut ? Makes sense to throw a rope anchor with a perm..

I would hope it blew to shore and someone would not steal it. I can not believe someone would take the time to steal that shanty it looks heavy. Maybe it is just a local prank and someone moved it.

Wow that sucks. I have a perm and I know I would be one mad guy if it was stolen. I always remove mine when lakes have there derbies for fear of what dirtbags will do. I hit different places up here and if I see it I will post here. I sure hope they get the bums that took it. Maybe they will be fishing with it if so take pictures of them for the police. Plate #'s or what ever or what would be funny is to get them to pose for a pic by there cool shanty that would be funny, they would make it on dumbest thieves. lol

That really sucks, I can't believe someone would stoop so low. Years ago I remember 2 ice fisherman on South Bay [Champlain] got in to an arguement a week later 1 guys shanty was burnt down.

I had a co-worker about 8 years ago who had his permanent shanty stolen of the beach were he had just put it waiting for the ice to get safe.

ive never herd of a shanty being stolen before. wow what pl will do when they want something. thats soooo low. but y would u leave ur shanty on the ice when ur away. i just got mine and if mine got stolen id hunt em down period. hope u get it back will keep an eye out

I don't know how people do it where you live but around here everyone leaves their hard side shanties on the lake all season. Never heard of one being stolen. Every once in a while you here of local kids (hopefully not adults) vandalizing one. It wouldn't make sense to have a permanent shanty if you brought it home everytime. Might as well have a portable instead.

It's digusting, people will steal anything, I had my gas auger stolen out of the bed of my truck in the parking lot of Stewarts in Queensbury last year on my way out fishing one morning, and the truck was parked in daylight in front of the front door of the store. People have no fear (or brains), keep an eye out, the idiot who stole it will probably just paint it a differant color and use it a couple hundred feet from where they took it, then act suprised when they get caught
