Gale i hope everything heals up good with you and I see you on the hard deck soon.  I've been mentioning this season I've had some stuff going on since September now missing a few lymph nodes and it turned out to be classic Hodgkins lymphoma cancer, going on my 7th chemo treatment yesterday and i have 1 more to go.  The good news is it went into remission after my 4th treatment and I'll be honest its been different life event for sure at 50 or at age at that.. It's been a kick in the ass 100% and my winter beard sucks,  but I'm getting thru it. Probably won't be camping till the end of January if im lucky. So day trips for me for now.  Looking forward to seeing all guys on the ice at FG

You guys are killing me. I have a funeral down there on the 29th in Salt Lake. Might have to sneak by and say hello on my way home if there’s room. Good to see you guys are all doing well. Matt I’m glad that you are on the mend. No fun for sure.

If I can add in my two cents, I would head elsewhere than south on road 11. It appears the fish have moved out of there. I don’t know why this happens but it seems to every year. We went from a 30 fish day between 2 people to 8 fish between 10 people. I’ve heard of 6” of ice south of buckboard but hard to tell as I’m currently in the Virgin Islands, sipping on bud light, on the patio in the 80 degrees evening weather ;) . Regardless, if you guys want to make that a base camp, it’s not a bad idea…but I think it will be slow fishing. Gotta follow that ice line south for best results!

Well it's looking like I'm finally gonna get a gorge camp trip in this season next weekend while wrapping up taking care of this cancer crap and my energy is up. Weather's looking to be just how I like it, down right COLD!  Going to be a busy week getting stuff ready as we may pull out on Thursday for a long ice camp weekend.

Sorry this post made it up so late but we had a great trip last weekend. Fished on over a foot of ice everywhere we went in anvil area and south. Had 2 big boys come off out deep right at the ice for lawerence and sky.  In camp we had a 28in & a 26in pup and a 29in burbot. The only fish I had on the ice was a small burbot in camp. Apparently I was using my anti fish gear  :-\ but that's why it's called fishing. Looking to be back up next weekend and will more than likely be fishing further south around swim Beach with everyone else looking for the big boys. Also heading to Bear Lake tomorrow to see what we can get on a quick day trip.

I don’t THINK I’m going to fish the derby. My mind is about 60% made up 😂 so if I’m around I’ll call from the bank for somebody to come get me 😂 . We just moved and I just can’t see going to a fishing derby when I have so much to organize at the house.

Fished swim Beach /Stateline area Thursday to Saturday.  We camped in 25fow and had few burb caught. Nothing big in size or #'s though. While I was fishing deep water 105ft I was finally able to connect with what we've been chasing. It came in at 41.5in and 25lbs. Beat my personal best by 5in and easily 6lbs+
