Mille Lacs Ice Castle Rental.
« on: Dec 03, 2021, 04:49 PM »
Looking for recommendations.  Have to go to Eden Prairie Jan 25-26th for work.  Figure Ill forgo a hotel and just rent an ice castle and stay a week.  Will take the 20 hour ride from CT to avoid the misery that is flying.  Upside all my gear will be with me.

Lived there for 20 years before coming to Ny. Grew up fishing Mille Lacs yearly with my dad and friends. Some great memories on MLL every winter. I’m sure a lot has changed. Hope you find something cool up there! I’m sure you will….. 👍

Walleye: From Dec. 1, 2021, through Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, one walleye between 21-23 inches or one fish longer than 28 inches. All other walleye must be immediately released.

May check that out.  Surprised at the lack of recommendations but then again not sure how many are here from MN.  Will see what google says.

Red Door Resort on the north end. They usually put their houses on good spots. Hunters Point on the southeast side. Ive never really had good luck on that side. I prefer Red Door. Good luck

Izaty’s is another nice place. Been there for years. Not sure if they still rent out fish houses.

Relatively new company but I used them a couple times last year when I needed a place to stay. Ice Camp Outfitters out of Garrison. Give Marcus a call and see if they have any houses free. (320) 345-7111.

They are a smaller outfitter but their houses and service is great. Just my two cents...

Will check them out.  Business will comp me the cost of the flight so thats cool.  Also if the cost of the castle rental doesnt exceed local hotels I can comp that too!  Still open to any other suggestions...

5 inches of ice and 20 inches of snow have really messed up the lake. Still only a few places even let atv’s  or sleds out their accesses. Those businesses REALLY need a break, too many bad years in a row. It’s not all weather though sometimes🤔
