Phils phighten the Braves on this lovely Tuesday, hard to believe the old one hit the dinger and here we are. IFF with the way schools operate since i was in school even the chance of snow/ice gets delay or snow day, which was 8 years since i graduated. My senior year we had a total of 23 delays, dismissals, or snow days, and I don't live in the most snow producing area ;) Enjoy the shopping at Sam's its always an adventure going there.

Dom How about sticking the old thread at the top so it does not get lost over time.? For some reason
H2L All I ever guy for reading glasses are cheap ones as they cost way less than what they will sell you at the doctor's. They come in different magnifications. You can buy them at the dollar store. They want to fit me for glasses every time I go to my eye doctor so I tell them not do that test as my insurance will not pay for it.
marv Wood screen door are not made like thy ey used to be. I was building a screened in porch. The guy said I should use a full-view
aluminum door when I complained about the quality of the wood door. I said that would look great on a wooden screened-in porch. NOT.
I mailed a scope to my grandson for the 336 Marlin that an old guy gave him. Hopefully, he gets a shot at that buck I sent you a picture of, either with his bow or the 336.
It has been a rough go for the wife since she had her hip replaced. Her pain has been terrible. I will be calling her doctor today and let him have it. We were in to see a different PA last week about the possible fracture they thought they saw at an ER. They are putting her off until her regular appointment on the 24th. >:(
Time for breakfast
??? ??? ??? ??? ????? What the hell did I do ? Am I in a twilight zone ? I had turned on the TV must have been about 7, and was watching some series 5 of "Longmire" dosed off and think it was about 8 when a blast of wind shook the house, and the sky opened up. Thunderstorm rolled through. Anyway what a surprise this morning "The New 9:45 Thread" I know I need new glasses, which my appointment for eye exam is tomorrow. Don't look at me, what ever happened I DIDN'T DO IT. That's my story and I am sticking to it.
Marv, Your noise see's new paint in here ?
'
Whopper Stopper, Are you getting the Covid booster as well?
Good morning ER's,
It's 48* and clear here on my hill. ::)

Eddie.......Sorry that the museum was closed, you'd think on a holiday they would be open? ???
Marv........Sorry the wind was too much to be in the stand. :cookoo:
Bud.........When I first got on this new page, Raquette had posted your last post and when I read it it, I thought it was from him.
I said to myself....Self this can't be right where Dom lives there is more snow than that. it pays to look at every word.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day, so my wife and I went for a ride to see the colorful trees, and stopped in Schroon Lake for lunch
at Flannigan's Bar and Grill. Lunch was fantastic.
Today looks like leaf clean up day.

Man what a day, Kitty bolted out the door, and have not seen it since this morning. Then about an hour ago got a call from not one but too, fishing friends that a long time fishing buddy Daris McKinnon had passed away. What a shock, age 56, as he had moved from Colorado to Texhoma, OK. And earlier this year we had talked of he and another friend, coming here to fish Cats in Lake Chickamauga. Cat fishing was a priority for him, and even held the state of Colorado channel Cat record. He will be truly missed.
RIP dear Friend.

Not so good a morning for me 4:30 ish yesterday, attempting to make my last stop at a strip shopping area, two lanes of traffic had stopped to allow me to make a left turn in front of them, and a RAM 1500 with monster tires came zooming up in a right turn lane for him, contacted, drove over my front end, and shoving me into a stopped car. No injuries except my feelings hurt.

Good evening everyone
A long wet afternoon on stand. The deer were moving unfortunately the one I am looking for didn't show. I ended up seeing 13 of which ten were bald and the other three were small in the horn dept.
I need to head to the laundromat and dry my stuff out. Tonight the temp drops into the mid 30's. Maybe tomorrow ???
WS
Z...Ive been told a few times I am picky lol I also have had tag soup a few times.
Good afternoon everyone.
54 degrees a run of warmer weather coming.
Z....I used to hunt with a bigger gang here in WI for rifle season. There were 20-25 guys most days and they primarily did deer drives to push deer out to standers. Often they would push 30-40 deer out on every drive. Not unusual in those days to make 6-8 drives a day and only see 3-4 bucks in a day.
My wife came up last night so I skipped going out this morning.
I will hit it agai this afternoon.
WS
Good afternoon everyone
It's prit near 70 degrees with a fairly stiff south wind.
Somewhat slow day today. I sat in a different stand this morning based on the wind and only saw two deer.
I decided to head to the far end of my property for the afternoon sit. I was only on stand for 1/2 hour before a little one came along and decided to hang out with me. As I am writing this it is taking a nap below me stand. Nothing like a live confidence decoy lol
Camera cards were checked at noon and most activity is midnight to 4am. I am hoping the weather cools off some but it doesn't sound promising.
I had A text from the old lady from a couple weeks back. The one that pulled the rope for me that said she weighed 200# and had oatmeal for breakfast. She was wondering if I could help her cut 3 little trees down. Come to find out she bought a small chainsaw and can't get it started :roflmao: I told her that I am closed for the season but technically being she was the second to the last job I would grandfather her in if she could wait a couple weeks. She said no problem she will be waiting.
Back to being laser focused.
Hope you all are having a good Saturday.
WS
At least you had company today.

Not to steal the thread Z man but I HAD trouble with cold feet. Tried 'em all for the most part. But since I got the Bogs Bozemans a few years ago...no more. In the stand...on the ice...in a boat. All good. Lightweight, waterproof and rated at -70*. Pair of liner socks and any good wooly is all ya' need.
Goose egg on hunting again... went back out from about 2 until dark and never even heard a shot, let alone saw a deer.

WS - if you don't find what you want, Powder Valley always has a pretty good selection in stock, and their prices are decent. I've been buying most of my powder from them the past few years.

Only one flat hazmat fee, no matter how much you buy at a time.

Yep what he said :)YA!! Me Too!!!
WS I love my 10x56 inch snow shoes. The 10 inch wide shoes make it easier to walk. I wish I knew how many miles I put on them trapping. I do not think I would like them any longer. I have seen metal shoes. Aren't they military surplus? I loaned my bear-paws to a friend for his fruit tree-trimming crew to try. When I got them back he had tied a piece of broom handle to the to act as a tail. It is the tail that keeps them tracking straight.
The tree snapped in the middle and the top of the tree hit the ground and the middle of the trunk landed on the house. Go figure..
:P :P
This is minor compared to what happened 22 years ago. But that’s another story.. ::)
Misty was moving furniture this morning..🤣

Marv That should have been hammered dulcimer in the pm yesterday. There is a Dulcimer Festival in Evart every year. That is where I met one of the best dulcimer players there is. Search "Wes Linenkugel Hammered Dulcimer" and you will see what I mean. He is a lot older now as his red beard is now white.

Steve
Been dealing with a bug for a week now.
Whopper Stopper did you make it to the gun range today if so were you happy with the performance of the reloads .
Morning all, 35° and raining here. That's about the biggest bummer I've read in a long, long while!! Damn!!! :%$#!:
Been really busy the past week dealing with identity theft. :%$#!: What a mess that is, I've been on the phone more in the past week more than probably the past 5 years combined. Some jackwagon took out a bunch of credit cards and loans using my social months ago using multiple addresses and phone numbers, and I just caught it last week when I saw my credit divebomb all the sudden. Turns out that was when all of them started going into missed payments to hit my credit. Gotta go back to the Sheriffs office after work today to get copies of the report I filed to send in a bunch of places, along with a stack of other documentation I've already had to round up  All my credit has been frozen, so it's just been a lovely week.
Ice season is over here... been back to completely open water for a week with highs mostly in the 50s. I'm going to get all the ice gear stored away, and my boat and motorcycle prepped up for spring this weekend.
ww - hope it's a good time. ;D
masoneddie - glad you were able to get a few trips out. I was only able to get on the ice 9-10 days this season. It wasn't the worst I've seen, but it was definitely a bad winter.
Out of time, gotta get back to it... I'll have to catch up more on the thread later.
Here are the the pictures that TT sent.

Just had to cancel my solar panel order.
Seems they couldn't ship at the cost I was quoted and paid.
Original cost to ship was $197 which I thought was fair and well priced.
Just got an email stating that none of their shipping partners could ship for the quoted price and that the cheapest they could find third party was $1354.55.
I have asked them to check with a shipper I use so we'll see what happens. ::)

Not sure how much progress they're making. Saw yesterday that they're stretched pretty thin and there isn'tmuch help coming as its the same across the country.
In the South of the NWT we lost one of our wildland fighters when a tree fell on him
:'(
It’s finally home !!
WS, you are staying pretty busy with the tree business. How long a drive is it to the shack?
Marv........ Do you own your own chipper??? If Jo wants you to spend time together, have her help load and haul the wood home. :roflmao:
IW
That's probably not a great idea right there :nono:  :roflmao:
I will pass along your suggestion to my wife :roflmao:
WS
62* and rain but this is NEW rain.
The wife's check up went well, everything looks good. The car did start making a "funny" noise, BRAKES so the wife is off this morning to get them taken care of. Brakes and CRV's don't seem to get along.
WS, yes, hunting season will be here before long.
Hope everyone has a good day and be well...h2l

I'm getting a little bit of cabin fever, I've never gone this long being at home. On the good side, I'm saving on gas.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

WW I'm just getting a permanent plate!! What I have now is what they slapped in after all my teeth were pulled. Implants are waaay expensive!!! The VA won't do them!! Everyone stay safe and healthy!!!
Gotta change my sparkplugs today. Jumped in the truck Monday morning and was getting misfire and CEL.
In Chevy's infinite wisdom, you have to take the intake manifold off to access the #2 spark plug and ignition coil on the 3.6L motor. So what should be a half hour job is now a 2 hour (if I'm lucky) job because some engineer couldn't plan for future routine maintenance.
At least the weather will be nice....
I bought a Chevy once, won't make that mistake again.
The engineers @ GM are retarded monkeys!!! ::)
Some of their other gems are on a V6 transverse engine having to disconnect the rear motor mount to replace the firewall side plugs.
But wait there's more!!! On another vehicle you have to remove the intake manifold to replace the starter!!! ::) ::) ::)
WS.....does your sister take your seat at the game table or are you still expected to join in the fun ???
They drop me like a hot potato when she shows up ;D:thumbsup:   :woot:
WS
Not this season Eddie.
He's planning on going to Kluane Lake in the Yukon this time.
Steve very true. My buddy got a new GMC just before COVID and it was in the shop more than it was on the road.
Same for a coworker that had a Traverse.
Had another friend with a Dodge Ram that had the transmission and rear end fail in the first year.
My new truck was the only on available with a built in 7.2kw generator to run my camper and tools and stuff other than the fully electric F-150 and that would not work for me.
Got to admit this new truck is swanky AF!!!! ;D

29* and cloudy, think we got about an inch of snow yesterday..
There wasn't much gas left in the snowblower so yesterday I added Sea Foam, started it and let it run until it quit. Today will dump the 87 octane into the jeep, get some 91 and see how it goes. Didn't want to mess with gas yesterday and vacuum seal the deer, that is done.
Eddie, good to see you at the table. St. Peter's is a very good hospital.
IFF, new stove looks great. Glad you were able to find a good "handyman" to help with the install.
H2L.... Just 1 oz. per gallon of SeaFoam will do it Good luck!! :flex:
The wife is going to pick my sister up this morning and take her Christman shopping.
Hope everyone has a good day and be safe....h2l
Brother’s coming for supper tonight apple cider donut cake for dessert

;) ;D :o :flex:   :woot:  just picked up the pickup and it runs like a new vehicleYay….congrats!!!!!
Time to pour me a good drink 😃🍷
WW my last squirrels didn’t turn out to my liking turned out like leather
How do you deal with that Drifter
I do not have a heated shop but keep them in the shop and even I replace batteries from time to time, but I have noticed to keep them charged if you are not driving them daily has helped quite a bit for keeping batteries longer, especially in the boat over the winter charging them either once a month or once every couple months the batteries seem to keep better.A battery tender works well in the winter!!!  :flex:
Little trickle charger, or something a little beefier? I'm sure I can manage to park in front of the garage and snake an extension cord out.
And I'll definitely be picking up a portable jump pack, those things are convenient enough to justify the price
Good morning gang, hey hunts2long any deer yard ing up ? Much snow on the ground .?
Marv...........Thanks for sharing the video. What was the carcass of? ???
IW
WS, hope all is well and thanks for the video. Have you gotten much snow this Winter?
h2l
A crisp bright morning  what a difference seeing the sun makes @) We're heading north later today, have a "guided" ice fishing trip tomorrow, an early birthday present for MrWW :icefish:
Congrats for the vacation Drifter, cannot wait for the cabin pictures.
Got my vacation leave approved.
Will be out at the cabin for 46 days this summer.
June 21st to August 5th. ;D
Hopefully I can get stuff done and don't have to worry about fires. ;)
After 15 years at work I only get 4 weeks of vacation a year but usually take most during Hunting season and around the holidays. Thought about teaching myself but did not think having most the summer off without a paycheck would be good for me, spend way to much money.
IFF…..safe travels to your daughterI saw a male the other day, but he was just passing through!! Our local birds normally show around Memorial Day!! :)
Forgot to mention I saw my first hummingbird yesterday!!!
Marv…hope all is well out in Minnysoda! Have the ladies been out fishing?
I still drool over that big walleye you caught on May 16th!!  :flex: . I’ll 2nd that!!
