Waneta and Lamoka
« on: Jan 06, 2006, 03:25 PM »
HI guys I was looking for a little info on Lamoka I am not that familiar with the lake I only know where the baptist church camp is and the island. I did fish off the docks at that camp and caught a few crappies and I would like to make a day trip and target crappies. I read old reports about the DEC trying to make this a trophy muskie lake. true? Also we might be taking a long weekend up there and I was looking for accommodations also. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try contacting the region 8 DEC office.  You will want to talk to a biologist.  They will tell you everything you need to know.  I have called them and they are very informative.

If you're looking for a place to stay Penn Yann, Naples, and Watkins Glen are all options.
I'm a-going to stay where ya sleep all day,
Where they hung the jerk who invented work
In the big rock candy mountains.
