I dont know if there is a fish I would not want to catch while on the ice, Gobies would be one, I could maybe say Bass as they are out of season where I live......

Yellow perch and chub with cusk closely behind. I know other people love cusk and they are great eating but i think they are blaaah.

well it depends on the lake, but for most lakes around here there are only two options:

1-Yellow Perch

2-PIKE

but let me say that i don't mind catching a whole bunch of pike up to sabattus once in awhile

I caught some nice perch at Waubay last season and had a blast. Why no love for the perch?? are they considered rough/trash fish where you guys live??

Well I think there is a lot of you guys from Maine who hate perch.

I think a flag is a flag and a tug on the old jiggin rod is a good thing.
The only annoying fishes to me are the one's that come in numbers when I'm not targeting them.
A few I hope to not pull out of the hole because I never target them!
Carp
freshwater drum
bullhead
Asian snakehead ( except I get to kill the Basstard)
or any other soft mouthed bottom dwelling booger.

Slime Darts!!! aka Pickeral ooooooooo i hate them basically due to the fact that they are very good at stealing bait. I dont know how many times i could look down a hole and see a pickeral just munching on my bait. No flag just munching.

I would say a perch on a tip up....i can have fun jigging them all day but when u see that flag go up and on the end is a perch that might be a few inches bigger than your bait...well that sucks
Same goes for open water...nothing worse when u see that 4 inch herring with a slip bobber go under and finding a 6 inch perch on the end.

I love pickerel though!

fallfish(aka. white chub) they chew on the bait till it turns to mush! little yellow perch. same thing. they kill the bait everytime you replace it! very hard to catch w/ big bait. forces me to redrill somewhere else. like the big ones on a u.l. pole though. great fight!

Ice fishing where i do there isnt anything i dont want to catch except a dink maybe - but at least i'm catching something. Fall fishing i hate bullhead and shiners - carp suck but put up one hell of a fight.

Worse than perch at stealing bait,

useless as an eater for the most part,

and absolutely ravenous!

hating perch - what do you guys target on the eastern side of the state? (Perch and Eyes are about the best table fare we have over here... but maybe i'm missing something

If I take the kids out it does not matter what we catch. Other than those times, I could do without the yellow perch and the pickerel.
