I want to catch a big salmon
« on: Feb 03, 2022, 09:54 AM »
Can someone tell me of a lake that I can catch a big salmon? Where the best access is?  Need a good spot with safe ice that would be great. Also if maybe you could drill the hole and set my trap even better.  When the flag goes up I'll do the rest.

I'd go with Rangeley.  Public landing is always plowed just for ice fisherman.  Make sure you wear bright colors so people can see you

Check the IFW stocking lists to see where they may have put in some brood stock!

There's plenty of Maine Guides you can hire to help you do just that, pay up the money and go do it.  Any more questions?  ::)

How's the snow on Lake Auburn? Wondering if a atv or sled would be better.  ;D

Go to a seafood store and order up the biggest salmon they got. It's cheaper and easier for you that way......and warmer....less time consuming.....blah blah blah  ;D ??? :icefish: hope I helped some

Make a call to the area Biologist where you want to fish. They are always full of great information.
Hope this helps

Some known lakes that can produce large salmon:
Schoodic Lake (both of them)
Auburn lake
Long Lake St Agatha
Moose Head
Branch
Tunk
and many many others

Big SEbago or Cabelas

Hahaha yes you can catch me right out the tank at Cabelas! Bring in a small old school handline a nice #4 hook and some powerbait nuggets. Do it Do it let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Woodchip is always amazing for support also. He taught me how to fish the Cabelas tank

I tried the tank at beans but they tossed me out and said it was for fly fishing only.
