Hali jig for freshwater smelt
« on: Jan 18, 2016, 07:38 AM »
I've found the smelt and would like to catch some of the smaller ones for bait. I've read people recommending a Hali jig but on their website there are many different models/styles and was wondering which one people preferred.  Thanks for any help

Sukkula
I've got the itch... No, not that one. It's the good kind.
It's pronounced "fay-len" (the x's are silent)

Anything shiny/ red/ white that's all enough to fit in their mouth should work.

I just caught one (daytime)out of jacksmelts shack with a sukula, perch, glow. I usually try the ones that glow first.
It must be something in the water.

I don't jig for smelt that much, but I used to like the blue and blacks hali jigs.
