Ive only been ice fishing for 3 seasons. But this year's ice has will outlast the other two by a while. what was the longest ice season year youve ever had? i remember some brutal winters in the 80s as a kid growing up in rock springs. too bad i didnt ice fish back then

Think 1999, was fishing at the end of March. It was my first year back after not ice fishing since I was a kid.

I remember being on the ice first week or so of April cannot remember if it was first or second weekend. But remember ice hanging on until May but just could not get out on the ice and even of you did not sure you would want to be out on it it just would not leave the lake so we could get boats in and not enough shore lines open to fish very effective.

I know that I posted some pics of my red pickup parked on
seminoe the 2 week of march, and in 2014 I posted that I was
at the bow arm on march 3, tried to get to seminoe to day to just
look but 2 hr shoveling 4 tire chains and a handyman jack we got out
but did not make it to the lake but it look all caped in the nocks

Most years on the last week of march. I've been on ice til April 3. I think it will be later this year.

2011. Jackson and Fremont Lakes did not thaw until after Memorial Day, it snowed into late June. I hope it does not do that again, that was brutal!!!

i traditionally end my ice season early may at turquoise lake in leadville, CO. ice is always 2 feet thick and hard there till almost june. also had 2 seasons fishing granby in early may. and many april sessions fishing williams fork. i love ice fishing when its 60 degrees out, sunny and ice is 18 inches thick, @)

I’ve got to say it’s this one! I usually start getting the spring bug in March. Usually, the fremont derby is the last of my ice fishing and I start transitioning to something else. Plus I’d rather fish on the boat. But this year with all the drifted roads there’s not much to transition to. Gone fishin!!

Don't remember the year but it was around 2012 I believe. Was fishing on good solid hard ice on Jackson Lake on May 12th. I remember very clearly how shocked I was and it was awesome fishing. Edges were the only thing that were questionable but no one broke through.

That was 2011, the winter from hell that lasted until mid-June!!!
