Ice Auger Question
« on: Mar 10, 2009, 04:42 PM »
Hey all I have an Eskimo Mako 43cc 8" gas auger. When I first get out on the ice the auger starts on the first pull and I can drill usually from 6-8 holes and then the auger dies. Once it dies it is extremely difficult to get the auger to start again unless I let it sit for a long while. Now I am not mechanically inclined at all. Any ideas as to why it is doing this?

Make sure when you open the gas cap vent that it is actually open. I had my gummed up and plugged when I first got it and it did just what you described.

Thanks guys...I really appreciate it. I always open the vent but I guess I never thought about it not working. I will take a look at it today and see if it fixes the problem.
Have a a great day.
