Got out yesterday and today just south of Boston. Yesterday the ice was seven inches and went down to five and a half inches. Today, started out at five inches and scared us off at four inches. Three inches crappy white on top of one inch of black. The open water was getting larger and larger. Caught a ton of pickerel, largest twenty-five inches, and a bunch of three and four pound bass. One tiny bass actually took an extra large shiner ! Must have been really hungry. The large pickerel were both chewed up, like they were in fights, mating prep I guess!
Won't be any ice there next weekend so it's back to driving further west. Excellent couple of days to end fishing at this pond! Cheers
