Pelican Bay? dang. Crazy how fast these small ponds skimmed up all across MN, even down in the cities.  If temps keep up small ponds way up north will be walkable before we know it.  I have a bad feeling it will be like last year though, quick freeze and then a warm up for awhile  ???   I'm super excited for ice but don't really want it this early to be honest... Fall fishing is best this time of year, these temps aren't fun for that though.

I was out Monday . The small creeks and ditches were pretty much froze over. I was on a lake north of Nashwauk the bays were starting with skim ice .Water temp 46 f . Caught a few Crappies but very slow bite.

I agree it’s way to early for this weather, needs to stay cold if it going to freeze up the smaller lakes now or we could have the same problems as last season. Weather is looking to get into the single numbers this weekend then the warm up starts talking about 40 for the first part of November.

I only work so that I can afford to fish, hunt, & farm
