Just found this site a couple days ago & signed up. I moved to an area in Alberta about an hour N.W. of Edmonton. Although I lived in Alberta before, I'm new to the new area. Lots to learn now about where to go fishing. I'll target Pike, Burbot and Lake Whites mainly.
To see the bird that I raise & use as a user name, click on the link. (I raise Pheasants as a hobby/pets)
http://www.gbwf.org/pheasants/reeves.html
I see the link doesn't work. Type into google & it should.
Also, tried to enter my own pic for an avatar. I have the pic in Photo Bucket. Tried all 3 links & none worked. Guess I'll try again later.

Welcome back to the land of Ice and Snow
Can't give you much help for the area your in but I can give you a ribbing when conditions warrant
Post lots of pics of your expeditions if ya can. As for the avitar make sure the picture is sized less than 120X120...I also believe you have to have the security setting set to let people view but you likely already know that. There's some instructions on the picture forum...
Cheers

Hey !
I have to pick up some new fishing bibles. All my old ones give no info on what is close to me. On another board a person mentioned Thunder Lake. I still have to find out where it is.
Last time I cooked up some Pike was about the mid 90s ! Of course, I did spend 3 years on the Queen Charlotte Islands ! Awesome fishing ! I'll dig up a couple pics & post them for ya'll to see.
I do have a 10" power auger, just waiting to fire up !

Welcome to Aberta, Reeves!!!! I live in the northeast, in the Lakeland. Let me know when you want to go out. If I can find the time, you are most welcome to join.

TJG - the 1st & third link worked for me - 2nd one didn't. Thanks for them !
BB - I'll have a look at a map , I have no idea where Lakeland is. I know it isn't here ! Looked at one of my OLD fishing bibles & it seems I moved to an area without lakes ! (Westlock) I'm looking forward to getting on the hard water again !
VC - The creek that runs by/through my place has been frozen for 3-4 weeks now !
Forgot to mention, not looking for any Trout species. I've caught millions, plus I do not eat them. They taste like fish ! Love the Pike, Wally, Burbot, etc. though !
Last time in Alberta I was catching Pike in Gull Lake to 35lbs.

Reeves ya may want to check out Lac St Ann and Wabamun if you haven't already. I've heard quite a bit about both and I believe they are close to you.

I have fished Lac St Ann, many years ago with a friend. It was just an afternoon in the summer.
Read lots about Wabamun. Now that I'm going to be living here for a long (forever?) time, I'm sure I'll give both a try.
Sure would be nice to find one REAL close, for those days when you only have a couple hours, ya know ?
Looked in 6-8 stores for the "Alberta Fishing Guide" today & not one place had it! You can buy any or all of the 30+ smut mags, but the most important book in Alberta is not on the shelf!!
