Lipless crankbaits
« on: Jan 10, 2009, 06:32 PM »
Anyone here jig lipless crankbaits during the winter?
I've been using Chubby Darters with some success, and on a recent trip to Upper Red Lake in MN I used a rattle trap because the pike there are suppose to like them up there. No pike on it but I did catch a 15" walleye and a 14" crappie on a 2 1/2" trap. Got me thinking that baits like the rattlin rapala (it can be had as small as 1 1/2") would work sort of like the chubby at a little less cost. Just seeing if anyone has been using them.

Tim
