It`s a sober reminder of the dangers of fishing on the Great lakes, in a boat or on the Ice.

I heard the bad news when I got home. A real tragedy when we lose a member of our hardwater community. My thoughts and prayer go out to his family and fishing friends. Tight lines my fallen comarad

Always hard to hear of a member of the ice fishing community losing their life out there.  Prayers are sent to his friends and family members.

Sad day on Lake Erie. A fellow fisherman lost his life doin what he loved the most. All you guys that fish the hardwater, take heed. When they say open cracks, please pay attention to the wind and the ice shift direction. They have been flirting with that crack for 2 weeks now. First just a couple planks, then a couple skids with plywood. Ice has been coming and going for some time. Sorry to hear it takes a life to smarten up alot of people. A fish is not worth a life. Take care all  and be safe out there. Mike in Ohio

hypothermia, he fell in, along with one other guy, they went out on 2.5" of ice, with atvs and snowmobiles, they didn't get to bring any of their gear back.

stupid people, you see 'em every day
