Lake Warner no more?
« on: May 07, 2021, 12:01 PM »
Today's Daily Hampshire Gazette (May 7, 2021) reports the sale of the Village Hall in North Hadley. This probably means the end of ice fishing on Lake Warner (aka North Hadley Pond). The only public access is by parking at the Hall or the ball field next to it and walking in next to the building. Now it will be private property, and the owners will not want to assume additional liability. I plan on emailing the town meeting and asking them to build access from the ball field. I will mention skaters and skiers, too. This will not affect open-water fishing.

Yes, I know fishing has not been great there the last few years, but it could still hold some lunkers.

If you want to read the article, go to www.gazettenet.com and search for "Village Hall sold."
