Heya 4reel how's it been going? I heard that crooked creek is down to about 6 feet deep in the bay.. I would assume by new year it will be good fishing if it isn't already with this cold snap.. If I head up sooner ill report.

Might check with Grant, he is the one running the cabin rentals I beieve up there.  Phone is 1-406-429-2999.

Something up there has to be froze, I'm starting to shake from the withdrawls.

Just got off the phone with Grant he said the water is very low, the willows I fished last year at 11 feet is only 3 feet now. The ice is about 6" thick in the bay but not very stable further out.

Thanks 4Reel, I didn't think it would be frozen that well yet.  Another couple weeks and hopefully it'll be locked up enough to get into some deeper water and do some exploring.

Kinda off topic, but good news for everyone hoping to fish crooked creek this year and into the spring.  Article in the Gazette saying the Corp. of Engineers will not be letting any more water out of Peck to float barges down stream.

That is great news. It still looks like the Crooked Creek ramp will be high and dry next spring.  With any other increase in outflows, Fourchette and other ramps would also be in jeopardy in 2013.
