I have an ice45 and never had a problem with it except it hums when it doesn't sit perfectly flat. Mine is a few years past warranty so I don't worry about warranty issues, if it needs to be repaired I just gotta pay for it. BUT, if I was gonna buy a new unit, I would go with a Vex. jmho

Have both an LX 7 and an ice 45. I have had nothing but problems from the marcum. Not a single problem from the 45 and I've had it for 5 years. I love the display on the 7 but honestly if I was to do it again I would save my money and just use the 45.

I have owned or operated the three major brands.  I specifically used to own an ICE35 and ICE55.

I really enjoyed the large display it had.  I do agree from earlier response that it seemed to hum fairly easily if sitting oddly.  I don't think you would be disappointed if you are solely stuck on Humminbird.  If you are up for different brands then I can make other recommendations  ;D
