walleye grounds over run with white perch
« on: Jan 21, 2015, 07:34 AM »
ok guys need some tips from you seasoned walleye anglers.i went to a local lake that i regulary fish in the summer and have great success on walleye...in the winter the lake water level gets dropped to kill off the weeds.i catch all my walleye in the summer between 18-25 feet of water.in the winter should i be fishing the same grounds wich has roughly 10-17' of water now or should i fish in the 18-25' range still.to get in that depth range i will not be near any structure and the lake is pretty much a mud basin.this weekend i seen a walleye on my camera in 23' of water but it was mid day.after the walleye left i got over run by 6" white perch.should i have stayed in this spot?thanks for any input.
