Rainbow Res

Took a drive out there yesterday at lunch...never been there before.  I parked at the boat launch, I was mostly there to look for places to drop a minnow trap but it's all locked up so that's out.  I've seen some posts about the fishing being poor there after the draw-down, but that sounds like it was 9 or 10 years ago...has anyone been out there either hard or soft water?  I would expect being part of the Farmington River that the fishery would be able to rebound fairly easily in that area, but who knows.  There's only about 2" of crap ice down there right now at the launch, but wondering if it's worth giving a shot at all?

You don’t want to ice fish on rainbow .
The water fluctuates to much and there is a steady current. Fishing open water can be ok there but nothing like it was years ago. Good luck and stay safe

I've caught some decent smallmouth out of rainbow reservoir but only in open water.  I don't think id ever push my luck trying to ice fish out there but I have heard of people getting out there on the ice.
