caught a 4 pd smallmouth off my sounder !
was pulling it back up and felt a tug and some weight and figured some how i hooked a branch , nope nice smally...especially for the pond
only had about 1/4 " of hook exposed , cant believe it got hooked !
anyone ever done that before ?

Or better yet... GPS coordinates to where you were? Lets get this place packed so no fish is without a sounder in their mouth! ha

it was the plain ole lead ball ones with the spring and its no secret...joes pond , biggest thing i ve caught there in the last couple outings :-\

i havent caught but have witnessed first hand at hortonia, my buddy was setting up his jacks and we believe a bullhead was taking his sounders. never landed them but was quite entertaining!

I caught a walleye on a yellow one many years ago.

Two rockbass on strike indicator last summer on fly rod. The pheasant nymph looked better to me.

got a small pickerel that way years ago.

Since I started putting blades and beads on my leaders I usually catch a pike on a sounder every other year or so. It's nice when the sounder comes back, usually doesn't.

nope
wish i would ve but i had to run a 100 yards to my shanty and get my 5 yr old to see it and then get it back before it got sleepy...and my little isnt much for taking pics ;D

Seen lakers do that a couple of times on Champlain. Pretty cool when it happens.
