I am game, what time, how long and where do you plan to fish? No specifics but in general, then I'll give the the nod to stay or go. Be careful out there, even if you think you know the lake.

Wish I had seen this earlier lol just got in from a trip up north. I would like to try it some time though the only time I've cusked is leaving my traps over night during the rotary derby.

I jigged for a few this evening in Alton bay. Ice thickness varies quite a bit.

6 wheeler and I went out accompanied by his friend. Great guys and we caught a couple cusk. As we were picking up I had one on my line that was a good size and he came off right at the hole. The hook just came off. It had a head like a baseball I was pissed. But they were my first fish of the year and my first cusk I ever caught and I met some cool guys so I had a good time. Thank you 6wheeler for the ice cleats

Nice job!  Great to hear you put in the effort and were rewarded.  I've been waiting for a certain spot to freeze up that holds some nice cusk.  Fishing is usually better toward the end of Feb.  Let me know if you want to meet up and go again.  Friday nights work best for me as I live/work in Boston during the week.
