I have 20lb Fluoro on my setups.  One has a 40lb Fluoro leader, and the other steel.

I use 8-12lb. Power pro, then tie on to a barrel swivel, then use 20-25lb. fluorocarbon.

I spooled my pike jigging rod with 50# Fireline. Partly because I had some laying around, but also because it doesn't hold much water (like braid), very abrasion resistant (for ice hole contact) and is thick enough to handle well if I have to resort to handlining. I treat the first 50' or so with a silicone fly line dressing to reduce water pickup even more. There's 20# uncoated steel or 60# fluoro for leader.........

To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

I use 15# powerpro. I have used the same line for 3 years now and it still works great.
