  • Why can't it go from warm to instant fishable ice?

Anyone else interested?

I am going to send for some larger maggots next week and was wondering if anyone would like to get in on it. At present, I have one friend wanting to split an order of 1000 which is $15, the larger the order the less cost per unit. I will have 500 that I would be able to split with someone as it now stands.

You didn't see any big holes out there at the end of the skate marks, did you?  ;D

I swung by freeman on my way by, the whole lake is froze over, it all has a couple inches of snow on it. The ice by the dock was solid and clear. I didn’t have a drill but it was thick enough to stomp on without making a noise. There was a few blocks of firewood that someone had thrown out there probably testing ice.

Yesterday, Wed. I stopped by Round Lake for a look see.  Its frozen over but only an inch or so thick.  It was near 40 degrees so who knows if it will last until the cold comes back.  Cocolalla lake was about the same.

My maggots came and they look really good, I think they will work well.

I think that it looks like it would be handy for those tiny maggots you are able to buy these days. The ones I just got are big enough even my old eyes can put them on a hook. I don't know why even St Joe Bait, which is still owned and managed by the same family to this day, has these little maggots. I don't know if they just package and refrigerate at an earlier age or what, but I think someone could buy bigger maggots by the 100,000's and take business away as the word spread about the better quality of this bait.

Is there anyone here that remembers the maggots that we were getting now. Sorry for the rant but I think we have been taken advantage of. St Joe Bait shows up to 1.2 million in business with 4 employees.

I buy all my bait from JADA BAIT in Wisconsin, I always get high quality Maggots and Wax worms. Never been disappointed Yet.  I agree The local maggot quality sucks

Good info gillsonice and I'm glad you agree with me on the quality of local bait.

It's not safe, If it was I would post It. With snow on top this morning someone would surely kill themselves
