Always remove jigging Rapala before testing. Could've been alot worse.

She wasn't home but my son quickly volunteered to do it and I just told him to get the F away I'd do it myself as he stood there with a crapeating grin.

I was amazed when i was building one how many youtube videos show them testing them with hooks still on. First thing i did was take off any hooks and tie on a random plumbing nut i had lying on my work bench. Gave it enough weight to simulate some bait, but not enough to trip the trigger.

I actually just redid my release. It was just a little to sensitive. Post pics when yours are done.

PVC can be heated and formed eliminating need for fittings and glue. I used bolt and wing nut at “T”. This allows it to be folded. Probably only cost about $3 to make. 5 holders and rods fit in bucket.

I think next time I would increase the angle. For this set up I am going to spool on some braid to reduce line stretch in deeper water. I did lose 1 or 2 so hopefully that fixes it.

I made mine with a coat hanger, drywall screws, 1x6 boards, key split ring, and an eye hook. These are not pics of my specific triggers just a similar one that I found online. You will need to fiddle with them a bit so they work for your particular rod/apparatus configuration. Not hard at all to make, first time trying probably took me 20 minutes to put together. There are probably 100 ways to make these and they work well. Beats the heck out of paying $40+

I like the heat n bend one too.  that's about as simple as it can get accept for just rod holder with trigger attached to holder with string.

I didn't glue any of mine together so it can break down.

Nice, I think slammers definitely increase hook ups. They are a lot faster and easier to stow than conventional tip ups as well.
