Indian River Lakes ice conditions/update?
« on: Jan 14, 2021, 10:02 PM »
Anyone got a line on how the Indians are holding up? Thinking about Hyde or Butterfield Sat. AM.
I know Ice Shanty policy is not to request info for ice conditions on Reports/Conditions so I’m just looking for an update here.
Thanks.

Okay...I’ll update myself then. Saturday 1/16 Hyde, Sunday 1/17 Moon both roughly 3-4” black, 2-3” white. No machines on Hyde. Snow mobiles ripping across Moon (not fishermen though)

Checked out Red Lake this morning. The car top launch access had only 1 1/2”. I moved away from the inlet a bit but it didn’t get more than 2 1/2”. Not enough for a party of 5. Left and went back over to Moon instead.

How'd you do on Moon? I used to fish it regularly, caught alot of hammer handle pike.  Kayak fished it this summer and got a few good bass and lost a couple jigs to a pike or pickeral.

My uncle always told me he'd catch crappie in the evening, but never when i was there.

Plenty of Pike. Just fewer than half were keepers. No monsters by any stretch of the imagination.
