child through the ice
« on: Feb 09, 2015, 04:10 PM »
A little girl (4 years old I believe) went through the ice yesterday on the powder river by the I 90 rest area. As of now she has not been recovered.  Please keep her family and all the members of the search and rescue teams in your prayers.  Hold your little ones a little tighter tonight.
To those who are about to fish, I salute you!

Thanks for posting a link. A friend told me about it at the gym today and my heart broke. Just wanted to get it out there so we can be sending prayers and thoughts towards her family.

Oh dear God, I can't imagine what her family is going through.  That's so sad.  If it was me I'd loose my mind.  Thoughts and prayers to the little girl, her family, and the emergency personnel, may God bless them all.

Just lucky I could find a news item and you are welcome, Goodnight.

My thoughts too, Chris and big_guy_.      :'(

They live right there, the papa may not be an icefisherman with our safety ideas on his mind.

They have not found her as of last night. I spoke with a friend on the search and rescue. He said they are cutting one huge block of ice at a time and moving it with a track hoe. The have someone stationed at all the ranchers crossings down stream where the water is slowed or partially dammed with large rocks. They will find her. Big shout out to all the Wyoming search and rescue crews who are out there.

The most recent update says that they (rescuers) have transitioned to recovery mode. We all know what that means. An area of 15 river miles are being searched with cadaver dogs on scene to aid in the recovery. An additional one is on the way. She'd not tears for her as she is with the LORD. Prayers for the hearts of her parents and a recovery from their loss. God be with them all.

Unfortunately I still have no good news. River is already fairly blown out due to the recent warm weather. Dirty and swift water aren't making it easy on the recovery teams.

They were forced to call the search off until the conditions improve.  It just blows my mind he was on that kind of ice with a child after its been so warm.
