Just got home from the kids ice fishing clinic, the weather and ice was great.
aprox 60 kids on the ice , most of them caught fish.
The most fish  had 16 perch/blue gill, biggest fish 12.5"trout boys, biggest fish girls 6" blue gill.
Everyone went home with fishing gear after the raffle.
I WOULD like to thank the volunteers who were there ,Josh, Charlie, John, Dave, Neil, Missoula fish, if I didn't list you sorry but thanks.
AND a big thank You to SFW [sportsman for fish and wildlife] for supplying the chili and hot dogs for lunch.
Please support the local sponsors , Cabelas, Sportsmans warehouse, Bob wards, Ace, Outdoor supply, Whalen tire, NAPA, coke and Pepsi.
THANKS AGAIN and see you next year.
Steve

We want to thank you again Steve for organizing another fun Kid's derby.  Donating your time and getting a kid's event sponsored is hard work and we very much appreciate it.  My son had a really good time and agreed it was way better than any electronic game.
We're also thankful to all the people/sponsors who donated gear and the people who helped/volunteered their time throughout the derby.

My son is already looking forward to Kid's Ice fishing Derby 2017 🐟🎣😊
:Ice fishing, because staying warm is for pansies.☃
:Ice fisherman can walk on water, beat that.😉
:Ice fishing, only the strong or the clinically insane survive.😜
:When Hell freezes over....I'll ice fish there too!🎣😈

We took the granddaughters out there yesterday, and they had a BALL.  This is a fabulous event that gets kids of all ages out on the ice for a healthy dose of fun.  Will be checking in next year to see if we can help.  Thanks to the retailers who donated and the organizations that organized and executed the event!

Cool panoramic, Mike. I'm in that photo! Good day on the ice with kids. I met a little girl who came all the way from Babb for this event. She was fishing with her grandpa and her uncle, who are not ice fishermen. She had never been fishing before and caught a few fish. Happy kid. I hope to participate again next year. Great event, Steve!

timberbutte,
I remember that girl, she gave me a big hug and wants to come next year.
There were quite a few kids there that had never fished and they are hooked now, One father said he didn't know how fun it was to ice fishing.
There were kids there from Utah and Washington also.
Thanks Again everyone
Steve

Great work, folks!
YOU are the only one who can decide if the ice is safe enough for you.
