Anybody have a Borscht recipe?
« on: Feb 12, 2011, 12:37 AM »
I know it's not fish related, but my last inquiry for perogy tips got me thinking about something else I am thinking of trying - Borscht.
I've never tried the stuff but just everyone I work with swears that it's awesome and even my youngest son says he likes it.
So, does anybody have a favourite recipe they'd care to share?
Thanks in advance,
Glen

Summa (potato) Borscht

Its a mennonite german soup that everyone around here loves.

Boil in water the bone of a ham with chunks of ham (best with homemade smoked ham)

After that is boiled cut up and put in green onion, cubed potatoes and dill

After potatoes are done put in a tub of sour cream mix well as pouring in. Heat for 5mins and serve

Simple and easy. Flavor results a lot on the smoked ham.

Just google it. Borscht is also Beet soup. Lots of varity to it and many recepits for it. Can be done with cabbage too. But open windows in the house after eating that so warm weather is advised.
