Found a few

Had a few hours to spare mid day today so I headed to the state line.  Found 3-4" of ice and a pile of gills, most of which were 4"!

Brought home enough for a mess.  Looks like it will continue making ice up there.

Found a few my self! Ended up with about 15 gills and 2 perch. About half the gills were pretty nice and will fry up real nice. Had about 2 and a half to 3 inches of good ice that held over from the first freeze up, but new ice wasn't ready yet! I'll try again tomorrow should be better with tonight's low in the teens. Hex

Dang right I do!  I only had a few hours midday but that was enough.  Scratch that itch....ahhhh!

Got out again this morning! Ice was more solid today almost 4". Ended up with 20 gills, again about half real nice and half average. I caught 2 bass on the same pink ratfinky I used on the gills, one 10" and a 14 and a half incher. Great to get out again! Later Hex

Nice mess Hex, great to be on the ice.  I had to do a little work today so I didn't make it out.  Maybe tomorrow. 

I hope you guys that want to fish are out there doing it if you can get away.  The ice is out there, go get you some!!!

Felt good to get out today! It was the longest dry period of fishing in nearly 5 years. Not sure how ice season is gonna pan out but I know I wanna take a far north trip this year

Oh yeah....plastics were the jam today. Couldnt buy a bite with bait. Plastics and flys for the win

they liked the pink.  hope to try them out here in next day or two.
