Really does resemble a Pickerel. Should make a nice mount.

As long as they took it to a quality taxidermist. Some real hacks out there.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

True story there Cecil!  A buddy of mine in Ohio has an 18" crappie that came out of his pond.  The mount doesn't look too bad but the paint job is about as bad as it gets without it being painted in neon metallics.

Sorry to hear that. My main drawback is how long it takes, but I don't have any problem mounting and painting crappies.

Yeah, it's a great fish that deserves a repaint one day.  Most of us will never see an 18" crappie let alone catch one.
