Bought a strikemaster drill conversion bit a couple weeks ago.  They have two models....one is for a 1/2" drill chuck and the other is for 3/8".  I have a 1/2 drill so I ordered the 1/2 converter.  Went to put on my strikemaster hand auger bit and it doesn't fit.  Fits in the drill chuck just fine but doesn't fit in the auger bit.  Turns out the 1/2 converter is for a "power" auger bit and the 3/8 is for a hand auger.  Doesn't have anything to do with the size of your drill chuck.  The diameter of the 1/2 inch is also larger and designed to go into a power auger drill bit.

Of course I pitched all the packaging for the converter so I can't return it......Just wanted to give a heads up to others so you don't make the same mistake I did.  The model you want for a hand auger conversion is an NDA-1.  The bigger size is the NDA-2 and that is only if you are putting a power auger bit on your drill.

Maybe contact whom ever you got it from and see if they will do an exchange?

Put it in your drill, get a file and spin the bit until it is the right size.

Problem with that is the Strikemaster power auger is .875" diameter and the hand auger is (18mm) .709" diameter. That's a lot of filling. Your gonna need a few good files for that adventure.
Call Strikemaster for some consolation. They're good people.

Take it to your local welding/machine shop and have them turn it down. Only take a couple minutes.

Plain popcorn works good for "packing material" if you kept the box.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.
