Cabelas Camera Leak
« on: Jan 03, 2010, 07:03 PM »
I'm pretty sure my cabela's camera (7" non panning) has a leak. last week I was using it and the screen went all gray. after tilting the camera around it would work with it tilted at certain angles. anyone know what the possibility of fixing one of these would be? it's out of warranty. any help is appreciated.

Just an update. I took the camera housing apart, used Marine "GOOP" and sealed the housing again, and let it dry thoroughly, and it held up last winter. Also drug it around in the boat a bit this summer. All's well.

Glad it worked out for you.  How do you like the camera besides that.

Not having any experience with anything else, it's ok. There aren't really any deal breakers, aside from it getting a leak. If I was in the market for one again, I'd really much prefer the portability of a much lighter flat screen monitor. That being said, I have no substantial reason to replace it, as it works ok.
