Had a rough morning. Got to Lewis parking lot at 6:20 and it was full. Drive to Godfrey’s and see I need my creepers. Take several steps and left one breaks but I still can walk in it. Get to my spot and drill two holes. On second one auger comes loose from my drill. Grab it just in time before it sinks to bottom. Luckily the rest of the day was great. Never had to move fish under me the whole time. Lost quite a few at the hole and lost a nice walleye so couldn’t get my limit.

Nice job on the fish Ric and even better job moving on to another access point and not trying to manufacture a parking spot at LP.

There were 2 fellas fishing off a snowmobile behind my son and I in an Otter flip over...  you left something on the ice, we picked it up.  I have it now, shoot me a message and we'll make arrangements to get it back to you.  This was off Chapman around 1:30-1:45.

Fished from 6:00-12:00 today wasn't disappointed. Stayed at one hole and marked fish all morning caught two short walleye and lost two others halfway up they felt pretty heavy. All on a #12 white jig with a Wax Worm.

Well done ric and  Yote I sucked today , I couldn’t get away from the short eyes , even with several moves and a wide range of depths , 2 keeper eyes and 6 perch and tossed back 2 that needed another stripe or 2 😃

Nice job guys!! Sweet weather day. I was thinking, "shouldn't these guys be working"? Then I realized it's a National Holiday.

Thanks guys it was a good day and the weather was great hopefully I'll be able to make it one more time before the ice is gone. And I think I'll go one size bigger with the jigs I use maybe that'll help me keep them on better.

It sure was a beautiful night out there. Possibly the nicest night we’ll have all season.

I got the boys out for the last couple hours. 4 perch and 3 walleyes for us.

This one hit a tip down, that says a lot about the bite!

Yesterday in 30fow had fish under me and my buddy from sunrise to sunset. A few short breaks in action but for the most part it was non stop. Between us probably 20 keeper eyes, 21 perch and as many shorts as you wanted, way too many to count plus a bonus 4+lb smallie. I caught majority on raps, he did better on spoons. Faster the better was the general rule, was almost like lake trout fishing.

Today two quick limits by 830 and 6 perch, touger more finicky bite but quailty fish maybe only 25 shorts and we decided to search for a more consistent perch bite instead of having to unhook any more shorts. Couldn't find any perch and bite just completely shut off so we called it a day at noon.

Nice fish everyone.

I fished out of Godfrey launch today from 1:30 until sunset. Managed to get 13 nice perch, lost a nice eye in the hole and released 7 shorts. Beautiful day.

Fished off Sylvan Beach yesterday afternoon and never really found em.  Did better shallower than in previous trips.  Very few marks for me until I got back to 21'.  Fish were pretty sluggish and even in the last hour of daylight they would chase but not crush it, just a gentle tap.  Beautiful afternoon out there, never bothered to set up the tent.  Nice to see lots of kids out.  Ice is starting to soften up a bit and the first 100 feet onto the ice is rutted pretty good with machine trails.  No cracks to contend with.

Caught my first keeper walleye through the Onieda ice yesterday! To make things better, in the last 30 minutes I managed to scratch out a limit.
Arrived at the Verona Beach Park around 11am I guess. Had the wheeler and mounted my HDS7 from the boat so I had a map this time. Ice was smooth and about 3 feet thick everywhere I went. I moved six times and never saw a fish on the Vex. I started in 20 fow, it was quite stained. With a couple hours of light left, I decided to go to a waypoint from the open water season. When I got there a few people were around. I switched to a Northland Glow Shot perch spoon for a smaller profile, and more visibility. 1st drop i whacked a slob, my pole was bent tip to handle, to only lose it at the bottom of the hole. So I decided to make my stand there. I probably saw 30 fish in those couple hours, and it took 27 of them to figure out how to entice them into biting.  None of them big, just over keeper size. The last one spit up what I believe was a 9 or 10 inch American Eel and a couple minnows. What a great day to be out!

I did get a visit from DEC yesterday. Really nice guy, checked my affairs and had a short chat. He said they had heard a lot of feedback about parking at Lewis Pt. from all parties. People wanting to fish Lewis Pt. with machines should consider parking at Verona Beach. Tons of easy parking for trucks and trailers. Real nice on/off the lake, very short ride everywhere on east end.
