I'm planning another trip on Friday and hoping there is more choices than just Sylvan.  Weather looks good so far.

Yep. As soon as that nasty sun went down it sounded like freight trains going back and forth on the lake. That's a good sound.

Yes and yes. I didn't check the ice in either spot so no idea what they're actually sitting on.

4-5" east f the point, mostly white. Cracks are opening up and pushing up in spots. Parking lot was half full at Lewis so I'm sure it will be a city Sat morning.

had an ice quake out in front of Williams park today that was insane.......standing next to a skimmed over crack b-s ing with my cousin when she heaved and buckled directly in front of us 20 FT away........sounded like an M80 going off.....sent ice chunks 15 ft in the air........worst heave I've ever witnessed in my 50 yrs of ice fishing.......watched the water come over the sheet thankfully on the other side of the crack......what a show....wish I had it on video

Wow. Sounds like fun. When I checked ice on the north shore earlier I stepped off the ice and heard noise behind me and the whole sheet was following me off. Crazy timing. Not dangerous but really weird seeing the ice start following you onto shore. It crunched up for a foot or so and stopped. Not sure where it opened up to do that.

Yes. It is where Apps is.

And it is a good thing for Apps and the area. The current situation is borderline dangerous.

I am sure there will be a spot to get down to the shoreline near where it is now.

Some open cracks to worry about. Especially because the ice on the edges isn’t solid yet. Ice itself was probably 3-5”. I didn’t measure, just judging by the spud drawing water.

I didn’t fish. Just spudded some areas.
