I put snow seal on my hunting boots right before deer season and put them in front of the heater for a few days works reel good but if your in a rush you could snow seal um and put them in the oven.
Let the dog run or the reels run?  Winters toughest dilemma!

bake the boot after you apply the sno-seal or bake it first

bake the boots first!

preheat your oven for 5 minutes at 350
turn it off    then put your boots in without
laces for 5 min.  you want to get snow seal
on the leather tongue of your boot also

Schnee makes a great boot grease that I have used for the past few years.  I like it a little better than the sno seal

I use pure neatsfoot oil, rubbed into the laces real good, and then put on the boot dryer.  Makes my work boots last a real long time too. I buy it by the jug from the local feed and farm.

Used to use neatsfoot, now use sno-seal. Apply on seams and then hit it with a hair dryer. After it melts in I rub a little more along the seams.

If your worried about baking them, a hair dryer works just as well.  One word of caution, don't use any wax based product on Gortex, it will ruin the breathability of the Gortex material.

Never tried duck spit but we used to render goose fat into grease to use on our boots and chopper mitts. We also rendered our pork fat for lard.
There was an old timer up here years ago that swore bear grease made the best pie crust as well as being the best oil to fry doughnuts.

MINKS?   MINKS?  You put minks on your boots? Now i'm gonna tell you a true story. I was Ice fishing near the B.C. / ALTA. border, when an AMERICAN MINK swam under the ice , up one of my holes and walked up to me and stood with his front paws on my boots, pink nose and all. Now I wont lie to you... I was kinda scared... but he was friendly, I guess he didnt want the mink on my boots, he just wanted the shrimp in my pocket(no pun intented)
I use a product called DUBBIN on my leather boots it works great....even the MINKS dont mind it!

sno seal....use a hair drier, use a rag or your fingers, work it into the seams....it will change light colored leather to dark....it works well...I usually put on a couple of coats....
