LL Bean gore-tex bibs and Arctic Armor Jacket....not completely sold on the jacket. Too warm and condensates. Used to use an green military jacket but finally wore out.

i have been wearing carhart bibs and coat.  they work well but do get wet easy and then freeze.  i have recently lost 75 pounds during the off season and i have got the ice armor blue suit.  cant wait to try it out.

Bought the IDI suit last Eelpout and used it till the ice went out this spring. Not a problem other than it gets hot if you try to wear too much under it. If you only wear your base layer, and maybe a shirt, you're set!

That is exactly how my Strikemaster suit is.  A sweatshirt w/no hood (don't need it, too bulky back there) or long sleeve shirt and pants does the trick.  It's when you get too hot the problems arise...you sweat and that draws the cold air.

I found the same with the IDI suit, very warm! I basically dress in long johns, pants and shirt. I have even omitted the long johns if fairly warm or if I have to do something out before or after a little fishing. I love the Artic Armor Suit, very warm, super lightweight and it FLOATS!

I see the Carhart is doing good but I think it is because of availability. I have never even seen some of the suits mentioned. Price may be another factor that keeps retailers or tackle shops from stocking high quality clothing. I am sure there is better than a Carhart, but I don't buy an expensive item like bibs and coats without trying them on first. The Carharts are everywhere.

I see that you have the Green Bay arctic armor suit. I.d.I has that suit on sale right now for only $269.99. Is there any difference between that edition and the others?  I think my wife is gonna get me an arctic armor suit for Xmas and even though I'm not a packer fan I would have no problem wearing it in order to save alot of money. Where did you pick yours up at? Thanks

Gotta go with my carhartt bibs ice king boots and some good smartwool socks and liners do the trick, plus you don't need a fancy suit to stay warm it's all about base layers and NO cotton.

Was on the ice for the first time with my Ice Armor this morning. Travel advisories and a storm front moving through. Around 10 degrees with gusts up to 55 mph coming off the mountain. If it wasn't for the wind blowing my gear all over the place I would have remained and fished. Ice Armor with jeans, Under Armor long tee, t-shirt and hoodie under the coat was all I needed. Nice stuff.

Vexilar jacket and bibs I have not  found any draw backs with it. All buttoned up fine for
running accross the ice on a quad.

Just got my SnoSuit today WOW! is that thing warm. Went out as the little one wanted out side. Even in the 20 mph winds I was toasty and couldn't feel the wind through the suit.

used my ice armor blue suit this last weekend for the first time and i am very very please with it.  when we got to the lake it was 7*F with no wind.  after being there for a couple of  hours it started to snow really hard and did for about an hour.  i stayed completely warm and dry.  i kneeled on the ice a couple of time and the knee pads are a nice feature.  one thing i also noticed when i was drilling my holes is i did fling ice and then water all over them, the chips stuck to them but through out the day they just fell off or i could brush them off.  with my old carharts they would stick and then freeze to them and they would get stiff and sometimes i could feel the cold.  this suit is probably one the of the best purchases i have made for ice fishing.

i am not sure how much warmer the greyblack suit is but the blue seems just fine.  i know it will be getting much colder in the mornings but i just ordered some polar weight cabelas brand under armor.  so i am sure i will be just fine.  and i have heard that people say they get to hot in the greyblack at times.  seems to have a better balance with layering with the blue black suit.
