Yes you can still get a wheeler on at vets, caught my salmon on custom jigs and spins fire tiger glazba with spikes while jigging perch.
If fishing is a sport are we considered athletes?

Ice at Bixby was fine today. No issues getting on or off. Just enough mealy snow to make the walk tougher.

Looking to try a new (to me) area and go off Diamond Point. If anyone can PM with info on whether I can get access there or not I would greatly appreciate it. Tight lines!

Are you still able to get a 4 wheeler onto the ice at Vets Park??????

It was good yesterday when I was there. Plenty of wheelers and snow dogs out.

Went yesterday out of Silver Bay. Shoreline was holding but you could tell that pressure ridge along shore was loosening and thinning. I measured 9-15" of ice from O'dell islands north the the pressure ridge coming off of stark point (extending completely across the lake to lamb shanty - really gross looking, no attempt to even cross on foot). Every hole i drilled, ~25 of them, was honeycombed (candled)  Ice came up in smaller chunks while drilling, there were noticeable weep holes and you noticed drainage/separation some cracks. The fat lady will be singing anytime now.

Tough for me again. With the way the last 3 weeks have gone for me, im feeling cursed. Only logical expalanation  :roflmao:

My buddy caught 4, the queen sent me off this year with a skunk. Lasted until about 2 before the rain/ lack of fish/ dead auger batteries soaked us into departure. Marked most of our fish in <55 fow. Best success we saw was fishing deeper perch grounds and waiting for the lakers to cruise through. I would have liked to have made it in front of a brook somewhere to follow the staging smelt but wasnt able to get to any of them.

I went togging off block this fall in a 19' triton. Needless to say we got quick a few looks driving up in a bass boat and immediately catching fish. It was a blast while conditions stayed in our favor

;D

BEAST. That line peeling off the spool had to sound amazing with that fish.

41.5" and 33 lbs or so. At the time over 40 was still legal and I kept it for my 88 year old Mom who loved fish. It turned out to be the last fish I ever gave her and fed her for months.

I normally let all the big cows go but I was having trouble getting a small one and I wanted some meat for her.

Zach that is insane to go out there in a bass boat.  One night I was drifting past an capsized boat over and over and didnt see it until morning...dangerous out there.  The bass are big though.

Had my islands wrong. Confused Block and Fishers. I would NOT make the run to block in a bass boat. Fishers island was were we ran around since we had a good window of low wind conditions.

You don't have to even go that far for 50" plus stripers   ;)

right Jon, you killed it last season off Block while I was staying a lot closer with the usual suspects... ;) ;D

The program you guys are on Ken is legendary and the best thing is I am 100% certain no boat can do what you guys do with those hige bass...because I tried, and tried, and tried some more.  Every night I couldnt make it to the island and boy was I humbled.  One of you will get a 60lber there.  I keep telling phil to ditch the braid...

Isn’t it great Ken to out fish Jon on the ice and the salt?! :-)
I may ditch the braid this year to see what happens. There is definitely a 60#+ there.

Then you’re not fishing in the right spot!
I didn’t break any hooks last year though. Owner hooks are holding up so far.
