Spent 4 hours off hearthstone this morning without a single flag or chaser before packing it in. Figured it would have been great today but nope not a thing.

Must be the lakers on the perch beds are always aggressive. It's always a game of keep away unless you want to hook a few. At least 10 times today lakers followed perch up towards the hole. You could literally look down the hole and watch them chase the perch. It cracked us up today, my buddies brother hooked a laker while he was on the phone with his tungsten jig sitting still. Perch bite was on fire.

Beach road bait and tackle main drag threw the village by the bowling ally

I really dont care I dont fish in the village.  I'm just saying I wouldn't complain about hitting up 307 that's like 10 mins from the lake.

Anyone ever ponder the idea of a splake or two being in lake George? Chances of a couple brook trout flushing in are decent, one was caught in schroon I saw and got my wheels turning it’s possible but what’s the reality?

like 4" of snow, crusted over. wind was punishing, sandblasted with snow, had to be 40mph gusts, but worth the trip

its weird I wonder if its because they spawn over different structures and the lakes being so vast with so many spawning areas that its rare they cross breed?

I have never heard of splake being spawned in the wild, I believe they really are only spawned artificially in a hatchery between a male brook trout and female laker.

you are correct about that very very few lakes that they do naturally reproduce in, just throwing the thought around

           IW

I was the last to leave on Tuesday round 4:30 and it was still drivable (though I drove up the hill round noon to avoid getting stuck).  Not sure if it iced up since then, but people were makin it up fine at the end of the day tuesday.

They are there Nick, some days are better than others. What were you using for bait on the tip ups, how far down were they and how deep was the water you were in? Do you have a flasher?
