honestly it is possible, however incredibly unlikely, Lake trout are highly variable  and it is possible you just caught a very dark fish. Look at lakes like Schroon or Piseco, most of their fish are almost black, with the light ones being the minority.

Was my thoughts exactly

Anyone know the results of the Hague tournament?

Do you just park right at the campsite?  Any fee?

We are up here now, it is def too windy for a shanty, sustained winds not too bad but these gust are bananas.  Saw a tractor trailer almost blow over on the highway.  Anyone know any sheltered smaller ponds lakes in the area we might want to check out?

Trout pond in Bolton Landing. Haven’t been there in a few years,  not a ton of Parking. But worth a look.

Yeah just go all the way to the boat launch and you can park in that area. Free parking. You can walk out from that area

@Leftymka  and myself had to be the only two guys out on the lake today… Brutal. Fought the wind more than we fought any fish. We did see @SpoonDangler on the way out though hopefully he’s having better luck than we did.

Same for us. The bait was there and so were the lakers but they would only chase.  Hoping it’s better in the am as the barometric pressure looks like it’s more stable. Nice meetin u guys

Used to be easy access at Rogers but dock bubblers, ice eaters did away with that.  There is access from Bixby Road just before you get into Bolton.  Parking is somewhat limited but is usually fine during week.  Can also get  on ice from Huddle Bay Road.  Same parking situation as Bixby.  Hope this helps.

Finally got on some Lake Trout on Saturday.  My son caught 2 and I got skunked. Met some nice people and the weather was awesome.  So excited when he caught the larger one we forgot to measure it before sending it back down. Smaller 2nd one was 19.5".

News channel 13 had a time lapse video showing a hard shanty holding up for a while then with a good gust completely disappearing. Hope the owner found it but I doubt it’s all in one piece.

Was it the shanty that was in front of the webcam at Hall's Boat? It's not there now.

Yes - that's the one. Imagine being in it when it took off!   I've been in my flipover and gone sailing but I couldn't imagine being in a hardsided shanty ….  wonder where it ended up!

Another skunking today outta hearthstone today, covered over a mile in n heavy wind and only 2 chasers all day to show for it.  Past two days have been slow for sure, I’d wager they are hungry tomorrow though as weather is becoming stable, wish I had another day off soon.

had some luck keeping the bait right on the bottom and twitching last weekend. Just another tactic when they won't Chase
