I hooked back up with an old high school friend last year who loves to fish, loves lake george (especially ice out in his canoe) and introduced him to jigging lakers, the noise of lake george making ice, pressure cracks  :o (we walked a half mile plus out of our way last year to cross one on shore), let him borrow my backup flasher and he caught some fish.

This year he found us an early ice deep water spot, bought a vex of his own, landed 7 fish in an hour all alone one afternoon on his first outing with his newly purchased vex, was fortunate enough to experience an all out first ice bite and ice a ton of fish  (i caught more that day  @)) and this weekend we fished both days and had a blast.

And yesterday he got a 19 inch salmon on a tipup  :tipup:.

For a warm winter with not much ice time it will still be memorable for many of us. Some got 8 salmon jigging (so far  ;D), some went in  :o    ..... 

who knows ..... with the forecast maybe we can fish next weekend  ;D

Good meeting and fishing with you John.  Your buddy was stoked and rightfully so, it was a nice fish.  Maybe next weekend?  Time will tell...

John I couldn't have said it any better myself good memories this year and fortunately we were able to get out there. I'm kinda embarrassed but proud to post this but my gf caught this 27 in slob today and out fished me today aswell. I've created a monster

Is it too late for me to get one session in on this lake?  I'm only familiar with Vets access and fishing near the Sagamore.  Any tips are greatly appreciated, I haven't gone out at all this year!

I ate half of that salmon last night .... i was lucky enough to do a good job grilling it and it was fantastic. I would say it was among the best fresh water fish i have ever had.

If the forecast is accurate next Saturday might just happen .... i would say "i'm in" but that is a bad choice of words when talking about ice fishing  :o

great weekend on the ice, brought my big plank for everyone to use both days, although truth to be told, didn't really need it.    Great seeing everyone out there, a lot of fun on Lake George yet again.    Looks like next weekend will be a go!  tony's girl put on a laker CLINIC!  It was awesome to see!

I'll try to send more pics the rest of the week.  :P Just picked a barren area today and couldn't be mobile as hard as it was raining.

And ditto on what Bigred and Fontana said.  Glad I finally got out on a Sunday.  Couple more days chasing silver this week, end of the week or weekend I will just concentrate on lakers.  My stubbornness will only last so long.  And yes, you'll all be on it this weekend.  ;)
