1/26/16 fished a bay on LG caught 1 perch. Hope couple of those bays tighten up again

Forecast is starting to look promising.  Any chance for ice forming over the weekend?  Supposed to be -10 Saturday.

I know you would...but honestly don't count on it too much. Other then a thin scaling in the bay's the weather shows lake George won't freeze this year.

Btw, you will rarely see me pitching docks lol....I'm the guy in the middle of the lake on off shore structure...not banging the bank like everyone else chasing the same fish.

Yup...they don't do that anymore. We don't even have a big bass board anymore for the top 10 biggest bass caught each season.

I am by no means a perch fisherman but have targeted them a few times. For those of you waiting for lake george for perch go to onieda. I fish there targeting walleye and have been hammering perch much bigger then any I habe ever got into on lake george. Maybe iv just been lucky at onieda but every time I fish for perch at lake george I catch 100 dinks for every decent fish. Oh and smokinss what do you care if lake george is frozen or not that boat never leaves round Ballston. And Champlain anyway. Guy knows those big ol Ballston bucket mouths by names. I'm starting to think they're pets he just goes out and "here fishy fishy fishy".

When you have 4lb smallies and 5lb+ largemouths dialed in like I know he back of my hand....is there a reason to leave?

However I fished many different lakes this year....you only think I'm at Ballston because that's where the big girls come from. Don't forget all those Champlain opens I do, the Mohawk River opens I do...spent time on paradox, eagle lake, sacandaga etc. this season...

My boat won't touch lake George. Too much bs to go along with it. You know this. I drive 7 more exits to Ticonderoga and save myself money and the hassle.... Who want to catch 100 cookie cutter bass anyways? I can go to Saratoga for that if I wanted to catch bait fish.

At this point if george does freeze, might as well start to pattern those post spawn bass. I really don't mind catching 4-5 lb smallies with some lakers and pesky perch mixed in.

I'm taking a day off from work next week to slip out on one of those bays. 
You can bank on a couple bays being safe enough for me after the weekend.

I have been out many times on perfectly safe ice and have landed pike, lake trout, perch, crappie, bluegills and a big fat largemouth.

It's been a good, safe season for me

Been on onieda a few times Schroon and the little pond close to home. Lots of ice out there. Don't wrry perch I won't get too riled up. Ship I'm gonna hit onieda or 4th on Saturday. Can't pully self away from onieda just too many options there.

Huddle bay still wide open even by the town dock that they continue to run a bubbler at.... wasting my tax dollars on that electric bill
