Is it easier to launch there now if you are an out of stater?  I wouldn't care about any lack of ice if I could get my boat on it...

I will NEVER , EVER put my boat in that snob lake again !!! Give me ice where any Joe Dirt can walk on the water there ..
Last time it didn't freeze over was 2012 I think..

There is now a wash/inspection required before launching in Lake George.  I don't know what launches still have a boat wash set-up running this time of year.  A call to NY's Department of Environmental Conservation would provide the info you need.

Eh that sounds horrible...but what I could do to those lakers with the long rods there it may be worth it...

OT but is Schroon a pain to launch too?

Agreed.  I only hard water fish that Lake.  Way to many people that have "money" and bad attitudes.  Nice thing abouthat hard water is you don't deal with any of that.

Hopefully we can get in some of the bays this year.  The way the weather is, we may be screwed.

I think you still deal with those people just to a lessor extent.  Thats why I am happy to blast the guys house to the right of vets with my headlamp every walk back when he's running that ice eater for no reason...

I fish LG a couple times a week with the boat. The wash stations are a joke but not really that big of a deal. The trout fishing makes it well worth it.

Lol I think every morning I'm there it's really dark and my high beams need to he shinning right in his windows. And as for open water fishing the new launch is beautiful down at mdb and for 10 bucks you can't complain

mdb is Million Dollar Beach  WASH is FREE if required   MDB is at south end of lake in town

the only complaint is that you need to be there at 4am to get a parking spot because it's TINY.. 16 parking spots is ridiculous

I don't think you can launch without having a sticker that says your boat is free of invasive..  So I don't think you would be able to launch right now at MDB unless there is someone there to clear your boat ..
Sorry , but in open water that lake is just not for me...

So what effect does a non-freeze winter have on the lake/fishing the following year? Anyone remember from the last time, I think 2001-02. Will the perch be bigger, stunted, no different?

       I don't believe it will make a difference, in 2011-12 ice season only a few bays froze and the next year, the perch fishing
       was the same, but the Laker fishing was better.
