7 lakers so far   ;D

just kidding .....  i have been watching the mdb cam expecting to see some foolhardy soul venturing out (and hopefully back in too  :o) but there has not been a soul out. Bet there is a solid inch or so.
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

OK, so here's the scoop. Drove the entire Lake from Hague to MDB. Nothing worth mentioning is frozen north of Bolton Landing. Maybe some of the narrows, but you cant get there. Sawmill bay/Vets park is only frozen out a little ways, not even to the end of Green Island. Huddle is open except for the very south end south of Leontine Island. Basin Bay is open. Southern Basin is frozen from MDB to about Tea island on west side and almost to Paulist Fathers on east side, but looks sketchy. From there North is open. Dunhams Bay is frozen out to the mouth of the bay. Haris Bay is the best news, its locked up all the way out off Assembly point about 2/3 of the length of Long Island and about 150 yds off end of Rockhurst. Warner and Katskill Bay are frozen at least to the end of Cleverdale.
Don't know about Hens and Chickens, but I would guess its frozen, that usually locks up early.
Hope this satisfies some appetites!!!
Thanks for the report on the King. It`s good to have fisherman like you on this site. Great news on Harris bay. :)

I thought exactly that and wanted to poke fun.
But... the man put up the best post we'll see on this thread all year.
I can't thank you enough for the work and post you put up Mike!

You would have seen me trying to poke at least.  But I didn't know about the alternative to MDB parking that JJ posted.  Drove by the beach and everything was gated and blocked so I took off.  Snow's not blowing off, which is kind of a bummer.

The bays have had small amounts of ice for almost 2 weeks .but many guys don't consider the lake frozen untill the entire lake has ice. Definetly a great sign too see she's heading in the right direction.

It didn't really. In the grand scheme of things, only about 5% of the lake is frozen. ;D
Oh, and I forgot to mention in my post that about half of Northwest bay was also frozen(the northern half).

In all my years of fishing Harris Bay I have only seen 1 person fish anywhere near the islands, everyone else fishes at least 1/2 to 3/4 miles out.

If I was to plan a lake George trip I would want to...jig some panfish and also set tip ups for trout/ lakers. Is that possible in the same location? I fish all of these adirondack lakes, so my strategy is normally always the same.

They were out as far as the docks on assembly point where you used to be able to get on, they couldn't of been on much ice though.

Yes, it's done all the time. You have to be in the right place though, look at the maps and find where there is good perch
grounds and close to deeper water for Lakers.

The lake has been fishable since it was first created. Take a little time and read the thread before just posting nonsense. Not that you will ever be back to read a response to your question. You figured out how to register as a member and post a reply, yet your incapable of reading page 208.  Welcome to the site!!!

Ice Wanderer - Are we going to try to hook up in hague this winter? I hope so! Lets give it some time though because as we all know from the previous posts.. right now theres just not enough ice to fish safely :) :afro:
