i cant hold out any longer it was to good of a day.thursday i fished from 10:30 till 2 iced 38 lakers in 50fow not far from perch grounds with a perch colored lure, the lakers seemed mad all the sudden they would charge off the bottom sometimes 3 at a time and just pound my jig and if i could land the fish and get back down quik enough i could get all 3 lakers that showed up on the screen, bite was insane! funny i beat my best day total of 27 by 11 fish all this year until last thurs my best day was 5 or 6,then i go and get 38 funny how the fish gods work

Second trip to Lake George this year. Went off of PK. Actually rode on my buddy's F150 tailgate straight across to Dome. Had a few lookers so went back across to a small island north of PK. Caught 3 shorts in 145 ft of water. There truely is nothing like jigging up Lakers with electronics. Still getting the hang of the trout. Had lookers in almost every hole drilled. Still trying to figure these trout out more. Experience will tell....Going back as soon as possible..

Buddy and myself went out today ..he had never caught a laker or actually fished for them. My kid went skiing today so I stole his Marcum and let my buddy use it. We iced 9 lakers and had chasers all day. He's hooked, his Christmas list has just been decreased to one thing...a flasher. Nothing like watching them come up and crush your lure!

Came off the ice at 6:30 tonight at Vets Park and learned someone fell through up in the narrows on a four wheeler. Dive team and air boat were heading out to search. Hope they are all ok!! There were 3 trucks still in the lot from that crew.

I was at Shelving rock below the Knapp estate tonight when to idiots on 4 wheelers came down the snowmobile trail, glared at me on the ice, drove over to the shore at the knapp camp on the point, drove over the point between the lower building and the small island with the roof, the drove across the narrows to the point of tongue near turtle, I lost sight of them, it may have been one of those guys, the were not fisherman....no tackle. Still hope they guy is ok....go figure?  Barebow

Should have hung around at dome.  I was the one with the blue shanty and tip ups.  Got 3 short jigging, and two nice 26 and 28 in. On suckers.  Once that wind turned though....wow...what a year for wind.  Was surprised to see you guys drive the truck over....but you made it back ok.

It's hard to tell these stories to people I know and not have them think I'm full of "it". But, once you've fished a few years on the King you know the potential it has to throw a record day like you had. We've never kept count, but I know we've had days of at least thirty five fish, if not as many as you had. There is nothing like dropping down and seeing fish come three, four, five at a time. It's almost like reeling them in takes too much time and you can't wait to get the next drop to hook another one.

I'll assume that all is well with the wheeler accident since we haven't read anything on here. Just too scary. I went through with the wheeler last year. It just happens so fast. Luckily I was in shallow water and close to shore. They trick is to keep it running. I was able to winch it in and get back to safety.
"As I grow older, I've come to suspect that I have got it backwards, and that life, at its best, is a metaphor for fishing and writing. Or perhaps neither side of any metaphor is finally dominant, the one inextricably tied to its contrasting likeness, no longer merely a point of comparison but yoked in a new existence to its other self."

I was wondering how the road is in Hearthstone Park, and if you can drive all the way down (or at least get back up) the hill without a 4X4. Was hoping to try it out there this week and did not want to take a chance of driving down and getting stuck. Any information would be appreciated.

The road at Hearthstone is no problem. Was there Saturday got down and up the hill with my front wheel drive sportage. Watch out for the holes the divers cut. They are marked with sticks and caution tape just off the beach as you get on the ice.

Oh yeah. Right next to us. We marked a few over there but nothing was biting. Went straight back across and caught 3 shorts immediately. We'll be back up soon. Don't think I'm gonna ride across in the truck too many times tho. I was ready to jump off the tailgate at all times!! lol..

It was my buddy, when he showed it to me I about gagged and looked away. Luckily my other buddy has a strong stomach and performed the surgery. It was bad , real bad.. A big giant treble buried deep into his thumb .
They had to cut it and force it through. Again my buddy was prepared with a first aid kit too

Awesome pics John! We have a tool basket at work with different size bolt cutters, pliers and cut off tools for all sorts of impalements and hook ups! Of course it's medical grade stuff but its the same idea! Nice clean hook set in your hand, no blood and mess! Lol!

That was the back of my calf  :o   ....  we just landed a nurse shark off of the dock and my buddy set the rod down and when i walked by the line got tangled in my feet and the hook embedded itself squarely in my leg. With one full day left in the Keys my options were the hospital or a little self operation. I just grabbed the pliers and forced it right through my flesh, flattened the barb, reversed it out and went tarpon fishing  @)
