That area must really be getting hammered w/traffic, there should be good snowmobile paths to follow. Sounds like the fish are in good numbers still.

man, the lakers did not want to hit anything today. I was on the ice at PK by 6:30 and got off at 4pm. Early morning I had one chaser, and he never hit it. Stayed in 120ft of water. I have just about had it fishing for lakers.
I also went out Monday for Lakers at daylight and walked off the ice after an hour or two.  The fish just were not active either where I was and I was in about 60-70 fow.  Some days they just aren't that aggressive.  Went out later and the day and pulled some Perch.  In the old days I would have fished ALL day with the hope that they might turn on.  I don't like to walk off, but it felt good not getting suckered.

Last three weeks they havnt turned on until after 10 for me. And I havnt found an aggressive group either. Still getting then to hit just have to fish for them differently. Little tip for those marking fish that won't chase. Pay close attention for a tail slap. Iv hooked up with quite a few fish this year letting my bait fall to the bottom after a wack and just letting it sit on bottom with a little wiggle. Good luck. Ill me making waves Saturday morning.

were you at Pilots knob?

atleast you are smart to leave if they aren't hitting. I am young and dumb haha. I have had way to many days where they will turn on for the last 2 hours or so and you make up for a lousy day of fishing, however this year, I have been getting my butt kicked with Hope!

Thinking about going out tomorrow again. Getting ready to go out plowing now and have the day off tomorrow.

I've had no luck with small suckers. Med 5-7 inch works best for me. I slit them to slow them down a little

Thanks.  I'll be looking to hit up some perch.  Im hoping that the warmer temps will cut some of the snow down with out compromising the ice by the weekend.

Slush pockets is understatement lol. We were walking in 6" of water under the snow by the end of the day. We made trails with the snowmobile that turned to streams. horrible idea. Feet were soaked. Bring high rubber boots or waders.
