Stated out a little slow down by diamond island.So we jumped back in our trucks and shot up to vet.Good choice took about ten minutes and had one on the ice.Moved one more time and we set there the rest of the day.Not apple but the ones we got were real nice biggest 27.Out in the am the parking lot was full. :icefish: :icefish: :icefish:

Went out and met up with some friends around noon, set my buddy John up with one on my fishfinders and he hooked into a nice 24" laker in less then 10 minute



Nice catch....I'm looking to buy a finder and am wondering what kind you were using. Most appear to be flashers!

I helped a friend get a shack out and had an hour or so to spare.
Enough time to try my hand again jigging lakers and put 2 on the ice. 1 short and 1 long.  ;D
The 2nd is my PB, but my tape was too far away to get a measurement.  :-\
Opted for a quick release after a couple pics. I've got a good video of the fight on an UL and land, but having issues uploading.

I haven't posted anything here this year but I enjoy watching all the pics and posts. I am a perch/crappie guy with ice fishing but want to try going for lakers. I have only caught them by accident going for perch.  Anyone willing to give me some pointers or meet up on the lake sometime soon?  Thanks!

slooow day at pk today. 3 guys 6 fish 12 hours of fishing! tons of chasers but they just wouldent commit. tried everything in the box. pimmples plastics and buckshots. going again Monday so hopefully ill have siome good pics. all fish were in the 20ish inch range.

Same sort of day for me, fished  out in front of log bay iced 2 right around 20 ".Lost a few lots of chasers but they kept bailing off at the end. There are some crazy depth changes out there.

I never jigged for lakeys before. I hear a lot say simple in white . I'm heading out on kattskill bay and just north where it drops to deeper water (80)ft or so. How is the ice , safe enough for a 4wheeler. I haven't been out there yet this year. ow imany inches of ice. And is there a certain way to jig, ripping it bouncing it?  Any help will be useful. Thank you
