Drove to harris bay yesterday , the ice was good out to the islands and even to the booies was not too bad..once past that there was cracks and holes of open water everywhere some at least 3 ft around , it was like a minefield out there...lol...Turned around and went back , managed to get out on the main lake , was right behind Ice wanderer (I was in the lil black shantie) jigged up a few lakers and got one on a tip up....The lake REALLY need some good and cold weather , if u go out BE CAREFUL,  there are many places you could sink right to the waste , this colder weekend should help out for sure!

With the weather lately I would avoid any place with flowing water coming in, or near it for that matter.

After all the rain and reports the last week and recent, I think to even ask about taking an atv on LG has to be the all time top question  :o of the season. Crazy man , just crazy

I wouldn't step foot on anywhere on that lake with out throwing a spud in front of every step.
I've had all kinds of guys try to tell me it's fine because it's 500lb distributed over 4 tires. Yadda, yadda.
What worries me is covering ground with out checking it right now.
I'd wait til next week for the quad man.

Lake George is still very iffy. The polar vortex is supposed to be coming back so we should have plenty of ice. The little snow we got is covering up the holes and cracks.  Of course if you like doing the Polar Plunge the you will be all set.

There were quads out where I was last weekend. I thought they were nuts, but they were there.

Wait another week for quads/sleds unless you like doing the polar bear thing. ;)  Snow coming in on Saturday will cover up old holes, etc.  Need some cold weather coming in next week  to add to ice cover and tighten it up.  As far as last year goes, we were running around on 12-14 inches of ice in the Huletts area despite the lake being open from Arcady bay to north of Hague.
